About the club

York City Rowing Club is an active, thriving club with around 300 members based in the centre of York on the Ouse. They have a fine fleet of boats and a fantastic stretch of water on which to use them.

There is a strong competitive element to the Club and we regularly top the British Rowing Almanack for the most wins in a season, wins which are spread throughout the junior, senior and masters sections of the Club.

What did they need me for

With an antiquated website which was run on an old content management system, the club’s website was updated infrequently and didn’t show off the amazing achievements of the club which needed to be updated far more regularly.

They needed:

  • A modern website which was Responsive
  • A content management system which allowed more of their committee to update their website regularly
  • Ability to upload content rich documents including office documents, pdfs, images and videos
  • Work with club members to deliver new content on the club, including club sections and also image galleries

Results

  • Moved the website to Wordpress
  • Custom YCRC theme to ensure the club colours run through the whole Website
  • Bespoke designs for club event posters
  • T-shirt design for and given to crew who won at world event
